Our Programme Director has designed programmes taught at Oxford University as well as for large corporations and for conferences. His expertise not only within trading but also within academia makes him a well composed blend of skills for delivering this programme with maximum effectiveness for you as a student.
The learning process can be broken down into three simple steps
VALUE ABSORBTION
TRIAL & CHALLENGE
IMPLEMENT & JOURNAL
This process must then be repeated so that the knowledge that goes into our short term memory can be better retained for longer term use. This is why this course is so incredibly practical. You must use the skills you obtain with immediate effect and it is for this reason that you are encouraged from even just week 5 of the course to begin opening your trading account and working with real money.
The journalling aspect also allows a type of self reflection. This combined with forming trader communities is what ascends a trader to a higher level.
Why real money? Why not a demo account?
There is an old expression ‘…becoming a trader gives you a masters in psychology for free.’ To be clear, you do not actually earn any qualification here. The expression simply highlights the importance of the stress a trader goes under when he places trades live with real money. You will be tempted to go against set trading plans, to abuse your own agreed strategies. One of the most important aspects you will learn within this programme is how to handle the type of mental resilience that is necessary to become a great trader. The value of this is immeasurable as it will carry forward a type of mental solidarity that will serve you in endless aspects of your life.
Our method is formulated around 6 major categories within which we then make stock selection.
